Franz Breidenich

Advanced-SIG Chairperson and
IBM Software Review Coordinator

Franz Breidenich has been a member of SEMCO since February 1979. At that time SEMCO Meetings were on the second Sunday of the month at 7 p.m. The meetings were held in Dearborn at the Ford Automotive Safety Center Auditorium. Most of the SIG’s meetings were at different locations on different days. There were 13 SIGs in SEMCO at that time.

Franz is the Chairperson of the Advanced-SIG, but this is not a demanding job. The Advanced-SIG meeting is an open meeting, where anyone attending can ask questions or talk about any computer related subject. Some times the subject is not even related to computers.

Franz is also the IBM Software Review Coordinator. In this job he finds members of the IBM-SIG to review software SEMCO has received from vendors. He makes sure that the reviews are done in a timely manner and given to Beth Fordyce to publish in the DATA BUS.

In his personal history, he is a retiree from Michigan Bell Telephone Company working there for 33 ½ years. He is not married, but has 13 nieces and nephews a and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Franz now spends much of his time working and playing on his computers. He also does maintenance and repairs on computers for a charitable organization.
