
Charles Moery’s interest in electronics began in his early teens. Over the years, he has constructed and built various projects such as FM radios,
televisions, direction finders, voltmeters, electronic organs and many other electronic
projects. He became interested in computers in the middle fifties and subsequently purchased an Apple II computer in 1979.
Chuck is a retiree of GMC Truck & Bus Division of General Motors Corporation where he worked most of his thirty-six year career in various departments within the Personnel Department, primarily in the Suggestion Department. He also worked for short periods in many of the major departments outside of Personnel (Material Control, Processing, Plant Layout, Engineering, Financial and Purchasing Departments and various activities in the manufacturing plants). Two of his accomplishments during his career were to develop and implement a computerized program for the Suggestion Department and a Time and Attendance reporting program for the Division. He was an active participant of the NASS (National Association of Suggestion Systems) organization and served as President of the local Detroit Chapter of NASS in 1977-78 and participated in numerous functions at the regional and national level.
Chuck served as President of SEMCO for one year and has volunteered for other activities in SEMCO and has occasionally written articles for the DATA BUS newsletter.
